Over 40 Iranian Films to Be Screened in London

TEHRAN -- More than 40 Iranian films will be screened in London by July 22 as part of the two-month programs of National Film Theater, entitled "Life and Art: Modern Iranian Cinema". Previously, it had been decided that the center, which is affiliated to the British Film Institute, screen 20 Iranian films during two seasons. However, according to the Public Relations Office of Farabi Cinema Foundation, due to the great public acclaim given to the Iranian films, 22 more films have been sent to London. The office further said that the films "Qeisar", "Lady of May", "The Runner", "From Karkheh to Rhine", "Bashou, the Little Stranger", "Narges", "Zinat", "Water, Wind, Soil", "The Blue Scarf", "Mother", "Kamalolmolk", "Hajj-Aqa, the Cinema Actor", "Beyond Fire", "Hawker", "Nassereddin-Shah, the Cinema Actor", "Where Is the Friend's House", "Lifeless Nature", "Reyhaneh", "Dot Means Girl" along with three short films by Kamran Shirdel were selected to be screened in London. "Lifeless Nature", "Qeisar", "Kamalolmolk" and "Hajj-Aqa, the Cinema Actor" were sent to London by Farabi Cinema Foundation in cooperation with Iran's House of Film. Furthermore, the films "In Lanes of Love", "Tenants", "Hamoun", "Cow", "Need", "Snake's Tooth", "Dance of Dust", "Dan", "Homework", "Passenger", "Close-Up", "Under Olive Trees", "Pomegranate and Flute", "Life Continues" and "Taste of Cherry" and the collection of short films by Abbas Kiarostami will also be screened for the Iranian film enthusiasts in London.
